Just to remind all those beach soccer fans out there (with Sky TV), Nuts TV are showing the ‘England Beach Soccer Nuts Tour’ on Monday nights at 7.30, repeated on Saturday night at 7.30, Sky channel 196.
So if you are already pining for the dreamy days of summer check out our latest TV Series and let us know what you think. The series features highlights of the tour including an International match-England v Germany, interviews and demonstrations with England Captain GC, plus informative commentary from EBS’s chief exec John Hawkins who is accompanied by some of our England Internationals and the lovely Nuts Girls.
The series is already half way through but is sure to be shown on freeview at a later date. EBS will keep you posted. Still to be broadcast on Sky is the I.O.W round, the Jersey round and the Superfinal.
Beach soccer fanatics and newcomers to the sport are catered for in this fresh and lively beach soccer show all set on the beach. EBS hope to further increase interest in our sport and help promote it to even higher levels.

Following an energetic weekend a slightly battered England team also took on a resident team of Jersey,who were surprisingly skilful for relative newcomers to the game. After initially taking a 2:0 lead Jersey finally lost to England 7:4.

The sun shone on us after a murky start to the day and the Jersey crowds took to our vibrant sport with gusto. The Nuts TV girls did us proud with their usual sunny disposition showering spectators with free t-shirts, beach soccer balls and refreshments in the Nuts TV VIP Lounge, where the lucky winners of the Nuts TV competitions were making themselves comfortable and enjoying the spectacle.

The local promoters and sponsors were fantastic and gave EBS a very warm welcome, with huge thanks to the Raddisson SAS Waterfront Hotel and local promoter Will Partington. EBS hopes the Jersey beach soccer scene can learn from the more experienced players and performances of this weekend and become a force to be reckoned with in years to come.

The event is being held in St Aubins Bay, St Helier this Saturday and Sunday 23rd and 24th August. Saturday sees the final three games of the Supertour with Santos and the Knights battling for a place in the Superfinal against the mighty Bees. The Bees have finished top of the table but need to win the Superfinal to be able to officially boast the title of English Beach Soccer Champions 2008.
Sunday will see Jersey’s finest beach soccer players competing against the team that finishes 3rd, followed by a chance to compete with the cream of the crop, the English national beach soccer squad. Then finally, the culmination of a season of feisty and passionate beach soccer action, with the long awaited beach soccer Superfinal of 2008.

In addition to the beach soccer action will be the sexy Nuts TV VIP room providing free refreshments in the company of our gorgeous Nuts TV girls, if you’re lucky enough to be invited that is. The Red Bull wigwam will be hosting the players lounge and there will be free grandstand seating to view the games.

So if you fancy getting yourself on TV or checking out England’s national beach soccer team, come on down to St Aubin’s Bay this weekend to experience the beach soccer party vibe and grab yourself a few Nuts TV freebies.

One to watch - Gary Funnell

The Spartans contain many players that are considered new comers to the sport of beach soccer, but players that have made an instant impression.  Cleverly weaved into their side are a number of key England squad players.

The movement and finishing of the Spartans is something to behold and they are quickly becoming a feared force on the circuit.

Star man - Terry Bowes (England most capped player)

One to watch - Victor Renner

The Knights have some of the longest serving beach soccer players on the circuit and contain a number of players that made up the first England beach soccer team. Terry Bowes has been a leading England player for over 6 years and has over 70 caps. Playing alongside him is Chris Attwood who also has over 50 England caps and is fighting hard to get back into the team.

The Knights are full of excellent footballers whose skills have been faultlessly transferred to the sand (something that is not easy to do).

A side that will never give up and give any team a very tough game.

Never has a team name been so suitable.

One to watch - Lewis Mitchell

Santos are led by exceptional Brazilian beach soccer player Luigui, who is also the team manager. Luigi has assembled the most talented young beach soccer players in England and is building a team full of flair, skill and confidence.  Santos play a Brazilian style and this team will only get better and better.  They are already beating anyone put in front of them and their skill, confidence and young legs are enough to make any team think twice.

They always put on a show and are definitely worth watching.

One to watch - Tony Kerr

Sociedad are renowned for being a strong and very well organised squad.  Initially put together by Luke Kerr, who has now gone on to become the England beach soccer manager.

Sociedad contain a vast amount of England squad players and some of the most experienced players on the UK beach soccer tour. Capable of beating anyone on their days and have a number of major cups and titles under their belt, no matter their league position, never, ever write Sociedad off because they will never give up.

Star man - GC Giancovich (England captain and England’s first and only professional player).

One to watch - Matt Evans

The Bees are the most successful team in the history of English beach soccer and are the current holders of the title of English Champions.

The Bees are based on the IOW and have a number of key England internationals in their squad, most notably GC and Sean Rann who have been the backbone of the ever improving England team, and England’s youngest ever captain Mark Mitchell (who captained the side at 20 for a tour).

The Bees are known for their exciting style of play and possess many players who can produce amazing skills and tricks on the sand.  Great to watch, always score a hat full of goals and have been very tough to beat in previous seasons in all forms of competition.

‘We got off to a bad start without many early goals in the first match, which was against the Bees. But in the last period we showed that we can out up a good fight against them, although they were the better side a deserved the win. The second match went better and, although we went behind a couple times during the game, I wasn’t worried about losing. I now feel that we have a good squad in the Knights – everyone works well together and it’s now just about taking it that next step forward.’

‘We had a tough time in Bournemouth this weekend. The first match didn’t go too well against the Bees with us conceding defeat despite it being close. The second match, against the Knights, was better but we really could’ve done with win to be in a better position for the Super Final. I know we can still make the super final; we just need to push forward, keep our heads up and our focus positive!’
